Get well soon, Gir!

I'm GLAD...

That Gir is still excited about food, and eating all by himself. (He's sick and skinny...so keeping food in him is important. And the fact that he's eating by himself means that he isn't feeling so terrible that he can't even feed himself, which is GREAT.)
That I've always had the money to take my animals to the vet when they need it. I've usually had to scrimp or make some sort of sacrifice to make this possible, but I'm just so glad there's never been a time that vet care was impossible because of lack of funds. *KNOCK ON WOOD*
That Ian and I got to start growing some veggies indoors yesterday!
That Ian has a relative who takes care of our car insurance. She has saved us so much money and stress so many times.
That I have a boyfriend who wants to see me happy, even if he has to make sacrifices.

I'm grateful for music and meditaing!

I'M GLAD...

For relaxing music.
That I found a deep fryer in my house...deep fried foods are so yummy lol.
For the internet. It's so great that when you want to know about anything you can just google it.
For meditation. It's free, makes you feel GREAT, and doesn't have any bad side effects! Awesome.
That my boyfriend, dad, or siblings aren't in the military. I'm thankful for people who are willing to go and do that, but I just don't think I could handle it if someone really close to me had to be shipped off for months at a time with a possibility of never coming back.
That I waited until I could rent Twilight to watch it. It sooo wasn't worth spending more than two dollars to see! Wasn't as sexy or romantic as the book, Edward had huge eyebrows, and what was up with the "Edward in the sun" scene? He didn't look amazing at all...just...weird. I usually have some kind of bone to pick with books made into movies anyway though.

I made veggie burgers!

TODAY, I DID...

Meditate. Three days in a row. woo woo
Clean the front room.
Vacuum the house.
Do dishes.
Talk to Dana on the phone.
Make my own black bean veggie burgers.

Pain killers and hot water are good things.

I'M GLAD...

For Excedrin. Usually never fails to make me feel better.
For Nine Inch Nails. I like 'em.
For hot water. The hot water broke in mine and Ian's first apartments once, and our landlord was an old man who didn't like to fix stuff, and cold showers were seriously TERRIBLE.
That I'm getting much better at walking two dogs at once. (THANK YOU Gentle Leader...) I always feel really bad when I have to leave a dog behind.

Headaches are no good.

So last night I randomly got one of the worst migraines of my life, and it was really painful to look at the computer screen, which is my excuse for not making an I Did list yesterday. So...let's play catch up.

YESTERDAY, I DID...

Meditate. Two days in a row....woo.
Take BOTH the dogs on a walk, at the same time, without too much hassle. (Unfortunately I forgot to take into consideration that on the way home I'd be handling two dogs AND a bag of groceries. Note to self: Next time, bring a backpack.)
Do the dishes.
Finish Season One of DTNG.
Play Penguins with Ian.

I love waking up to the sound of birds chirping

I'M GLAD...

That birds chirp. I just love the sound of singing birds in the morning...it means that warm weather is finally here!
For tampons. (Sorry...that may be a little TMI lol) Let's face it...that time of the month is pretty friggin' terrible. But imagine how much worse it would be without tampons. lol
For friends that try hard to stay in touch with me, because I'm not so good at it.
For cough drops.
That my fridge is clean now! I can keep a pitcher of kool-aid in there without it tasting like banana peppers a few hours later. woo hoo

Hello, my name is Breanne, and I'm addicted to Degrassi

TODAY, I DID...

Meditate.
Play fetch with Austin. (Ani doesn't play fetch...she mostly chases Austin while he plays. lol)
Clean out the fridge. It was a serious pain, but also seriously needed to be done.
Do TONS of dishes. (That's what I get for not doing any dishes over the weekend I guess. :P
Do the laundry.
Figure out how to download any episode from any season of Degrassi and I am more excited about it than I should be. I'm such a nerd lol

Excited to do lots of hiking this year!

I'M GLAD...

That I have a computer to use again!
That me and Ian got to go on our first hike of the year yesterday!
That I live close to lots of places for hiking.
That the fontina cheese soup me and Ian made last night was soooo very yummy.
That my cough is finally going away...kind of...
That am I'm a passive person, for the most part. This actually is something that I'm usually very ungrateful for, but maybe sometimes it's better to just bite your tongue, and be the one to just let things go.

Friday, March 13, 2009

I've been unproductive, but maybe it's ok to take a day to be lazy and try to relax.

TODAY, I DID...

Finally start reading a book on Yoga I borrowed from my sister. ( Thanks Marci)
Take a walk with Austin when I was feeling stressed.
Take a nap with Yoshi.
Do the dishes, even though I really didn't want to.

I love my kitty-kitty

I'M GLAD...

That it's Friday!
That my back seems to finally be feeling better. (Knock on wood!
For Honey Bunches of Oats. It's pretty much the best cereal ever. lol
That the people at American First Credit Union are always nice and understanding.
For Yoshi. She always seems to know when I need a friend.
That I was able to find Yoshi that time she was lost for over a week. (even though she decided to come home right after I'd spent $20 making lamenated lost cat signs)

Pitas with hummus are sooooo yummy!

TODAY, I DID...

Make French toast for breakfast.

Go to the chiropractor.
Clean the kitchen.

Libraries and laundry...

I'M GLAD...

For the library. I get to read lots of great books for free!
For books. Sometimes it's nice to be able to live in a fantasy world for awhile.
For asparagus. It is just so yummy. lol
For washers and dryers. It would be such a pain to do laundry by hand! And that I have some in my house. Going to the laundry mat is also a pain.
For my animals' good health. I would be in big financial trouble if they got sick more often.

Yesterday's I Did...

Oops... I forgot to make an I Did List yesterday. I guess I'll do it now...

YESTERDAY, I DID...

Go to the dentist.
Clean the rat cages.
Let the rats have extra free range time.
Clean the kitty litter box. (like scrub out and rinse with my bare hands clean!)
Finish volume 2 of Fruits Basket, Now I need to find number 3!

(What's funny about this picture is that it makes no sense lol. Anyone else who knows Furuba will understand. I thought it was cute though.)

It's good to be insured!

I'M GLAD...

That I figured out how to type a little faster on the Wii.
That Ian and I both finally have health insurance.
That I got an e-mail back from Tracy Aviary and they want me to come in for an interview!
That we got pizza for dinner last night so I hardly have any dishes to do today.
That I got to go to the dentist today for the first time in about 3 years.
That it's warm outside and my walk home from the dentist wasn't bad at all.
That a certain person is still alive, because they were so close to leaving us forever. And that now the pain they were hiding so well is apparent, and hopefully they'll know how much they're loved and can start healing soon. Life is really scary sometimes.

Job hunting is lame...

TODAY, I DID...

That I have a car that runs well, even if it is expensive to own sometimes!
That there are a lot of fun places to walk my dogs in close proximety of my house.
For Gentle Leaders! Now I can finally walk Ani without worrying about my arm coming out of it's socket.
For friends who care about me enough to stay sober with me at parties.
That I have a warm house to stay in when it's cold outside.
For that moment of relief you feel when you wake up from a bad dream.

A day of dog grooming

TODAY, I DID...

Make over easy eggs for breakfast without breaking any yolks.
Walk to Smith's with Austin
Brush the dogs' teeth and cleaned their ears
Brush Ani, which is a huge pain right now because she's blowing out her winter undercoat. I can't belive how much fur comes off of one dog!
Clean the kitchen
Clean the bathroom
Make rattatouille for dinner, and it was yummy!

I'm grateful for good weather and good books!

I'M GLAD...

That it was warm enough that I didn't have to wear a jacket during my walk on Tuesday.
That for the first time Austin didn't try to attack the motorcycle that went past us during our walk. (The first one atleast :P)
That the library lets people use their computers for free.
That I have a boyfriend who enjoys reading as much as I do. I love reading with him at night and discussing what we're reading together. We're both reading thru The Chronicles of Narnia right now and I think it's so much fun!
That the counselor that evaluated me yesterday was so nice and understanding.
That it's stopped snowing and the weather seems nice enough for a walk.
That cats purr. I think it's a very comforting sound.

I love my Sponebob PJs

TODAY, I DID...

Make crepes with cranberry jalepeno sauce for breakfast.

Do laundry
Organize a bunch of paperwork
Sewed up holes in my Spongebob pajama pants that I've had since I was 14 and refuse to retire. (I am such a nerd lol)

I'm glad for my brother, good food, and shoes!

I'M GLAD...

That I eventually learned to appreciate my little brother, who turned 18 today. Happy Bday Roman!
That even though my laptop broke, I can still kind of use the internet. (Even though the internet on the Wii is a huge pain! I have to point and click on every letter to write this)
That the new recipe for Penne with mushrooms and Chinese Broccoli Ian and I made last night turned out so super yummy!
That my mom got me a really nice electric pan that makes cooking and cleaning up afterwards a lot easier!
That I got to watch my rat babies enjoy some left over crepes and eggs this morning. (They're so adorable when they eat!)
That it hasn't snowed in a long time.
That I have shoes to wear. (I say this because the zipper on my fave boots broke, so now I have to wear shoes I don't like as much, but instead of being sad about it, I know I should be glad to have any shoes at all!)

What this blog is about...

Right now it seems like my life is just one bad thing after another. I'm trying really hard to stay positive though, but it's kind of hard for me because I'm naturally very pessimistic.
This blog is inspired by the idea that you get back the kind of energy you put out. (In other words, I need to start thinking more positively) I'm going to try to start off every day with a glad list (Things that I am glad to have, a game taught to me by my mom when I was a kid) and end the day with an I did list (An idea I got from Marci, to list what I accomplished during the day)
Hopefully this will help me feel more motivated and have more things to be happy about!
